Position Description:

As a general labourer you will be given the chance to develop your knowledge within the roofing industry and contribute to a great team with lots of growth opportunities

- Wages for General Labourers starts at $16.00-20.00/hr based on experience.

- Wages for Roofers/Supervisors start at $22.00-$35.00/hr based on experience.

- Work weeks are 44 hours.

What you will be doing in the role:

You will be responsible for assisting our experienced roofers, while helping to maintain a safe, and clean worksite.

Specifically you will be:

- Loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks and shelves,

- Safely loading material into vehicles, ensuring that they are strapped, braced or padded to prevent damage,

- Bundling/stacking materials;

- Lifting heavy objects by hand, cleaning work areas and equipment to assist operators,

- Shovelling loose material, such as gravel, into machine hoppers, wheelbarrows and scrap trucks.

- Perform miscellaneous roofing duties under the supervision of a Production Roofer.

What you should bring to the role: In order to have success you should be a team oriented worker, eager to learn and can follow direction. You will be physically able to stand, walk and lift materials for long periods of time and comfortable working outdoors and at heights.

And, you should also be/have:

- Previous experience in construction or manufacturing

- A valid driver’s license and means of transportation

- Punctual, reliable and professional

- Open to learning new skills

- Able to communicate effectively with team members

- Working at Heights / Fall Arrest Ticket.

Job Description

• 5 years previous experience as service technician level 1, roofer 2 or equivalent.

• Advanced abilities in troubleshooting, destructive sampling, determining, sourcing and identifying roof leaks and system failures.

• Greet and interact with customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner

• Miscellaneous Material handling, ability to lift, move and transport materials and equipment 50lbs of lighter. Safely loading material into vehicles, ensuring that they are strapped, braced or padded to prevent damage.

• Supply and use proper PPE (Site Specific and Fall Protection)

• Maintain an organized, clean and safe work environment.

• Technical understanding and competency.

• Maintain positive attitude and work environment (attitude, demeanor, etc)

• Learn trade and industry specifics from skilled workers and supervisors.

• Demonstrated extensive knowledge & abilities of all of applicable roofing system approved installations, details and repairs.

• Proficient in sheet metal fabrication and installation as needed

• Ability to properly seal and flash building elements in accordance with manufacturer specifications without deficiencies.

• Obtain and maintain a TSSA propane ticket.

• Ability to maintain and service small engine equipment (buggies, cutters, sweepers)

• Air, Fuel, Spark, Critical fluids. * Ability to use a patch kettle.

• Coordinate daily work.

• Supervise daily work.

• Ability to operate all equipment present at the job site.

• Identify and ensure correction of deficiencies.

• Perform the duties required of this position in a timely and efficient manner

• “G” Class license mandatory.

• Other duties required.’

Who we are: Rauth Sheet Metal Limited is an Architectural Metal Contractor that services the GTA, London, Windsor and Sarnia, Ontario. Our highly trained team specializes in the design, installation and service of the following Architectural metal systems; - Metal Roofing and Decking. - Decorative Hidden Fastener Cladding. - Exposed Fastener Cladding. - Pre-formed / Pre-insulated Panels. - Custom fabricator and installer of sheet metal flashings.

What you’ll be doing:

• Installation of Architectural Cladding applications, including Steel Roofing and Wall finishes, Composite Aluminum Wall finishes, Composite Aluminum Wall panels and Custom Zinc or Copper applications.

What we’re looking for:

• Previous experience architectural cladding experience in a commercial/industrial setting

• Ability to learn and follow our extensive safety policy
